Lighting design for this installation at Bristol Central Library

Created by Rusty Squid for the library’s 400th anniversary, Book Hive lined the vaults of Bristol’s Central Library. Four hundred robotic books reacted to the movements of visitors in the space setting the books into a swarm, a moment of wonder.

For the lighting design I layered amber coloured filters and translucent laser-cut paper to create a soft dappled light.
