Show design for Paolo Nutini Arena shows

My design drew inspiration from ‘60s and ‘70s projection effects, reflecting Paolo’s love for the look of shows from that era. I aimed for a vintage, analogue lighting feel, working with LD Liam Tully to choose fixtures resembling par-cans and theatre lanterns, avoiding LED pixels.

Prisms were added to live cameras, and I collaborated with psych projectionist Sid Fossil to create analog effects. This was solely a projection show, with no LED screens, allowing Sid’s live projections to mix with video projection. We projected onto the band and stage for a screen-bleed effect, reminiscent of ‘70s expanded cinema. Video textures influenced by experimental video art from the ’70s to ’90s were also incorporated.
