The Dean Heritage Centre

Design work for the heritage centre

To meet the budgetary constraints I worked with existing lighting fixtures, where possible, specifying new bulbs with a consistent colour temperature and high CRI (colour rendering) to give more crispness to existing displays across 5 galleries. Other displays were updated with new, high quality, LED fixtures. I efficiently renewed a central display to act as a focal point in Gallery 1 by painting and installing bespoke wallpaper derived from an original watercolour I’d sourced. Designing audio for the Victorian classroom and a beam engine display involved a visit to The London Museum of Water and Steam and corralling children to be chastised by the wonderful ‘Victorian’ school teacher, Mary Dutson. Discreet speakers and motion-triggered media players were installed.
